AWARENESS WORKSHOPS

“One of the best workshops I have ever attended”

Deborah Swinglehurst GP and Academic Clinical Lecturer at Queen Mary University of London

FLACK offers awareness raising workshops for sixth form colleges, business undergraduates, and  professionals in health care, criminal justice, housing and social work.

FLACK workshops are interactive, multi-media and challenging. Presented by the founder of FLACK, Kirsten Lavers with two members of FLACK who share their stories of homelessness and recovery and take questions from workshop participants.

We cover:

the stereotype of homelessness - myths, fears, fictions

                    homelessness now - facts, figures

                    causes of homelessness

                    the homeless experience

                    effects of homelessness

how can we make a difference (tailored to needs of participants)

FEEDBACK FROM OUR WORKSHOPS:

“it’s opened my eyes - homelessness could happen to people like me”

“learned loads more about issues causing and triggering homelessness and ways we can help prevent it”

“the best bit was the discussion with Robin and Emma, hearing their story and how they’ve become the people they are today”
