Why are you called FLACK?
Homeless people get a lot of ‘flack’ (random criticism) is one answer. The other is that ‘to flack’ means to publicise and promote, which is what we aim to do by promoting the talents of homeless people and helping to publicise the diverse cultural life of Cambridge.
Where can I buy FLACK ?
You can buy FLACK from; retail outlets, honesty boxes in community venues, city-centre street vendors and by online subscription.
What’s the difference between FLACK and the Big Issue?
FLACK is a local magazine with local content and what’s on listings, whereas the Big Issue is the same wherever you buy it. Homeless people are involved in every aspect of FLACK’s editorial, production and distribution including all the articles and artwork. The Big Issue is produced by professional journalists and homeless people are just involved as street vendors of the magazine.
I’m homeless in Cambridge ... can you help me?
FLACK has close links with services for homeless people in Cambridge and we’re happy to help with advice on where you can best get the help you need. Who call sell FLACK as a street vendor?
Anyone who would like to support FLACK is welcome to join our street vending team. If you would like to also earn some extra cash you can badge up as an OFFICIAL VENDOR. Or you can badge up as a VOLUNTEER VENDOR to give all your sales proceeds to FLACK to support our work. click here for details
How do I submit an article or artwork for publication?
